Fabric & Materials

These fabrics will not exist again

Every Dresilo shirt is made from deadstock cloth. Once our allocation runs out, the fabric is gone — no reorder, no substitute. Here is the current selection, and why each piece earned its place.

Man wearing a Dresilo made-to-measure shirt on a stone staircase

Deadstock is fabric that was made for someone else. Woven for a luxury house, held in a mill’s archive, never cut. We buy it in finite quantities — sometimes a few dozen metres, rarely more — and when it’s gone, it’s gone. No two Dresilo collections share the same fabric.

The fabrics in this collection were developed for houses at the level of Louis Vuitton and Saint Laurent — woven to the exacting standards those clients demand, then never used. When those allocations become available, we find them. That is how a Dresilo shirt is made from fabric that most shirtmakers, at any price point, simply do not have access to. The scarcity is real. It is also the point.

Soft Cotton Poplin — White

Soft Cotton Poplin

Ref. T25B13548 · Italy · GOTS certified organic

A fine plain-weave cotton from a northern Italian mill, certified organic under GOTS. At 159 g/m² it is substantial enough to hold structure through a full day without feeling stiff — the weave is dense but the hand is genuinely soft. This is the fabric we reach for first when someone is unsure what to choose.

Poplin

Ref. T24B09458 · Italy · Deadstock from a Luxury Maison

A dry, compact poplin from an Italian mill, blended for drape and structure in equal measure. The 65/35 polyester-cotton weave gives it a clean hang and a surface that holds colour — this particular baby blue has the clarity of a fabric made for a house with exacting standards. Light transparence means it breathes without losing its form.

Stretch Cotton Poplin

Ref. T24S11111 · Indonesia · Deadstock from a Luxury Maison

At 109 g/m² this is the lightest fabric in the collection — a stretch poplin with 3% elastane woven in, just enough to give the shirt ease without ever reading as stretch. The hand is dry and compact; it moves with the body rather than against it. In black it is precise, uncompromising, and exactly right for a shirt worn beyond the office.

Cotton & Viscose Panama — Grey
Cotton & Viscose Panama — Grey

Cotton & Viscose Panama

Ref. T22A01697 · Italy · Deadstock from a French Luxury Maison

The heaviest fabric in the collection, and the most complex. A three-fibre panama — cotton for structure, viscose for fluidity, linen for texture — woven in Italy for a French luxury house. At 242 g/m² it has real weight and presence. The grey reads differently in different light: cool and architectural in the morning, warmer and more considered by afternoon. This is a shirt for the person who wants fabric they can actually feel.
